When we went to walk the Grotto at night we witnessed a swan kidnapping. There were these two girls with a pool net that went into the gated area around the pond at the Grotto and tried to capture the adult swan. They didn't succeed. So when we were done with the Grotto I wanted to walk around the pond and we saw the girls were on the other side of the pond now. They were chasing the baby swans and one of them was yelling "I GOT ONE!" They had a getaway car and everything. They went off and I felt awful. I don't know what they will do to that baby swan and I don't understand what the point was. Thankfully this place has cameras and can hopefully do something.
In the morning we cleaned up and got ready to move again. The cats knew exactly what was going on lol. This is the longest we will be driving on this leg of the trip. So of course the winds were 16-18mph with 30-32mph gusts. A very stressful drive and the cats were feeling it too. They weren't okay most of the trip and calmed down more so with an hour left.
We arrived at Backbone State park and the site was more of a pull through then it was a back-in, which was nice. Cats were fine when we were back inside. We relaxed a little and then decided to check out the park. This was a really pretty park and nicely taken care of and reminded us of Ohio parks. We went to the spring and the cave that they have in the park. Both were short walks and pretty fascinating. There was a lot more to see but it was getting dark so we headed back. We could have probably spent a full day or two in the park alone.
We finished Dancing With Wolves and went to bed.
