Finally in Lander!
We left the distillery pretty early. The hosts came out and said goodbye and recommended a different way out since the rain kind of took away their entrance and main road. Which was nice of her. We headed to Lander and thankfully the weather was nice and the wind calmed down a lot. I-80 is known for awful winds and is a super hard route for semi trucks. Lots of them end up flipped over. I was a nervous wreck. So I can only imagine how Joe felt. I'm just glad something went right this time. The winds got bad in a few areas but nothing too crazy. When we got to our campground the lady was telling Joe how they've had a bunch of bad tornadoes in the area recently and they've killed hundreds. This is NOT what I want to hear lol. I'm already so paranoid. She said they've never had any type of weather like this before. She also mentioned the red rocks we passed was a huge area for accidents. She said the wind goes through the rocks and flips over a ton of campers ππππππ We will definitely be triple researching our route back home. I'm excited to be in Wyoming because I've wanted to come here for so long. But now I am just terrified. The west sucks lol. We never had all these issues and worries back east.
I was finally able to setup the trailer as normal. It feels like a home again. The cats did so good on this trip. I'm so proud of them. I think they know we are staying put for awhile now.
Did some laundry but this campground only has one washer and dryer. Extremely new and nice but I wish there were two. I had to wait hours to get a load in. This one family had to of done 15 loads. They were in a smaller trailer than ours and there was only four of them. I'm not sure where they're storing all their clothes and things lol.... But I didn't get done with laundry until 11pm. I only had one load. I hope these people aren't longterm and are leaving lol. It's a super small campground though. So I understand only having one washer and dryer.
Went to pick up some food from a local grocery store. The prices were super low compared to where we've been. I was pretty shocked. We aren't doing much exploring or anything today and probably not tomorrow. We just want to relax!
