Cumberland and Eagle Falls

6/22- We went back to Cindy's Cave and Eagle's Point.

6/23- Took the one hour and forty minute drive to visit Cumberland Falls. The falls are not hard to access. They have multiple viewing docks. The place is full of trash. We should have brought a garbage bag with us. You can see the moon bow here, which is neat. Only viewable the first few days of January, February, and March. You need a full moon and clear skies as well. When I was looking at reviews I saw that a lot of people got engaged under the moon bow! This place is perfect for kids. You can get them all tired out and they'd love playing on the beach. There's also gem mining that you can do here. There's a few other trails that are near Cumberland Falls. Nothing crazy. I wish people took better care of the place.

They call it the Niagara Falls of the south. Not sure why. They're a decent size but nothing huge. I also don't consider Kentucky to be the south. We may be in southern Kentucky but it's not the south. Change my mind, you can't lol. I saw videos on TikTok of the falls in the winter and when it floods. NOW THAT is something I'd love to see. The falls looks so cool in the snow. Half frozen. The flooding is dangerous but looks so pretty. Some people were saying that the flooding gets up to the height of the falls. You'd never know there were falls there, you'd think it was just a river. So crazy.

Eagle Falls is a short drive from Cumberland Falls and in the same state park. There's also no fee to enter the park. So that's nice. Eagle Falls is really what I was looking forward to.

Less trash and way less people. We did the whole loop trail and it was a peaceful trail. Nothing too difficult. Lots of stairs and up and down hills. Sometimes you're on the edge of a cliff but they have railings. Nothing we haven't done before. Definitely wouldn't recommend for kids or older people, unless you're confident enough.

Eagle Falls is stunning. The rock beds along the trail are also super pretty. You can swim here if you had the right attire. Or just go for it. You can also get behind the falls if you're skilled enough. The many different angles you can view the falls from is amazing. I love getting close to waterfalls and having them to ourselves. So this was perfect. So relaxing and well worth it.

Joe is dumping out our tanks and then we are heading to Mike's Landing. Going to sit on the water and have a few drinks while listening to some live music.
