Woke up on Monday and packed up. The storm the night before was bad but we didn't get the bad parts. We were pretty lucky. When we went to the dump station to dump, Joe forgot to take off the end cap, so we thought the tanks were clogged. We did what we did in Tennessee to try and fix it. This worked because the pressure blew the cap off lol. We spent almost two hours doing this though. So we got a late start to Indiana.
Made it to our campground and it immediately started to rain. So we set-up what we could while in the rain and then waited it out to finish the rest.
Tuesday was Dead and Company. I walked outside to let Cherry out and all of Indiana was covered in smog or whatever. The air quality on my phone was through the roof.
We left around 3pm to get there and have a decent parking spot. We also wanted to check out shakedown street. There was a ton of traffic. We got a good parking spot and followed everyone else into shakedown. If this isn't really their final tour then next year when we go we are leaving at 11am. Then we can fully experience shakedown. Shakedown is my favorite. I love all the vendors and people. This community is just amazing. I can't describe it. If you know, you know lol. We befriended the guy who parked next to us and he kind of took us in. He's been to this venue when it was Deer Creek. He knew what he was doing. So we got in line, went through security, went to the bathrooms, and headed to the booth to get some merchandise. Then he had us follow him to get to the front with the crazies and the spinners. He stayed two rows back but I went down to the action. Met some more great people and danced all night. Joe and I also went into he seated section near the end of the show and they ended it with Touch of Grey! They had an amazing set list. Everything was just amazing. Such a good show!!!
Wednesday I went to Walmart and Tractor Supply for some kitty items. I got them all their favorite snacks since we will be driving a lot the next six days to get to Wyoming.
Today is Thursday and we made it to Iowa. Stressful. Again, lol. When we were packing up it started to rain. I stalk the weather now, ever since Mississippi. Not sure why I do though. Every app I have is never correct. Travel days are always perfect weather until the day of and it drives me insane. Once we hit Illinois we were in a severe storm with winds up to 80mph. We got stuck in this while trying to get off at an exit. It was terrifying. My poor cats. They're so strong and brave 😔 Got off at a Love's and waited the storm out with the other trucks and trailers. While going through Illinois we passed towns with so much damage and fallen trees. We made it to the state park we are staying at and the cats got all their favorite treats. Now they're sleeping and probably dreaming of running away lol.
We are only overnighting here and it's electric hookups only. Which is fine. The water spout is across from our site and the bathrooms are five trailer spots down. Tomorrow we head to another Hipcamp. This is on the property of a small country store which is also a cafe. Located in Little Sioux, IA. We have full hookup and stay for two nights.
On Sunday we head to a small campground that is located on a working ranch. This is in Big Springs, NE. I'm super excited about this. the reviews mentioned a barn cat that hangs out with all the guests, his name is Bob. The reviews also mention being able to watch the cows feed and stuff. I can't wait. We will be here another two nights.
Tuesday we head to Pine Bluffs, WY. This is our first Harvest Host stay! I'm also excited about this. It's a winery and the reviews are awesome. I'm hoping the weather is nice because everyone mentions the amazing sunset views from here. As of now it's suppose to rain 1-3pm. I can work with that.
Wednesday we leave and finally arrive at our month long destination in Wyoming 💓
