Update 5/16/23

 🌸 Hopefully everyone had a nice Mother's Day! 🌸

🚐 We ended up extending our stay in Chatham because we didn't have Joe's Dad's truck title yet. We need this to be able to sell the truck and this will be the last tie that we have to this place. Unless something else comes up 😅 We've spent the last few days with friends, taking walks, working on the trailer and making some good food. 

🐱 Figaro is still getting comfortable. He's definitely a scaredy cat. He still slinks around when he hears an unfamiliar noise. Yesterday was the longest he's been out of his hiding spot in the closet. Although, I think most of the time he's in the closet, he just enjoys it. 

🐱 Cherry is perfectly fine. She is in her element when she's in the trailer. She is SO lovey. We go outside and sit on the picnic table while she sunbathes in the afternoons. I think it is her most favorite part of the day. Today she even met some neighbors. She doesn't scream as much when we have the front screen door open. I think she just doesn't like not knowing what is going on outside. Which will soon be a problem because we are going to be traveling down south. There's no way Joe and I will be able to function with just windows open. The AC will have to be on lol. 

📖 Joe is reading one of the Lord of the Rings books, again. I'm currently reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac. I've already finished two Colleen Hoover books while here;

🌎 I've been using Wanderlog to plan out our trips. I really like it so far. We are all set with places to stay from May19-June 9th and June 12-18th. I have a few spots that we can possibly stay at while in New Orleans and Cave City. We aren't worried about booking them now. This is something we will do in the next week or two. 

Here is a general summary of what the next few weeks are going to look like for us!

📍 May 19-26th we will be in Gatlinburg. Some of our itinerary includes;

Burgess Falls State Park, Moonshine Mountain Coaster, Fall Creek Falls, Gabes Mountain Trailhead, Crockett Tavern Museum, Rock City Gardens and a day in Gatlinburg doing all the touristy things. 

I also found two springs near us. Each 40-45 minutes away. Hopefully we will be able to fill up! I've missed spring water😩

🚐 I found a super nice spot to stay on Hipcamp! If you haven't heard of Hipcamp, it is basically Airbnb but for camping! So cool. I'm in love with the app already. I will always love Airbnb (I know this is controversial) I've never had any problems with them and we always stay somewhere super neat and different. I think I'll make a separate post about places we've stayed and loved.

📍 May 26-30th we will be in Hayesville, North Carolina. Some of our itinerary includes;

Amicalola Falls State Park, Little Bird Falls, Flat Laurel Creek Trailhead, Chatuge Dam Trail,

Ross Farm Greenhouses and Hayesville Brew. I also found a Cherokee Homestead where there

will be a free Alex Key concert on the night we arrive!

🚐 I alsooooo found this place we are staying from Hipcamp! It is Alice in Wonderland themed

and I cannot put into words how excited I am for this lol. We will probably spend half a day

exploring the campground. (Found a spring 20 minutes from our site!)

On our way out we will boondock somewhere for the night on our way to Alabama. Kind of hoping

we land in Gadsden because that's where Yelawolf is from lol.

📍 May 31st-June 9th we will be in Robertsdale, Alabama. Some of our itinerary includes;

Gulf Shores State Park, Orange Beach, West Beach, Fort Pickens, Magnolia Springs, Hank Williams 

gravestone and museum, Blackwater River State Park, The First White House of the Confederacy, Barber 

Marina in search of the sculpted dinosaurs and Bamahenge. Also going to make sure we check out 

BUC-EE'S! 

We will be so close to Pensacola, FL so we are going to spend a day over there. Taking a trip down 

memory lane!

🚐 We will be staying in a RV resort park. We even got a riverside site! (Found a spring 39 minutes away!)

📍 June 9-12th we will be in New Orleans. Some of our itinerary includes;

Musical Legends Park, Frenchmen St, Garden District, Pascal's Manale and Logtown. We are basically

going to roam the streets here and see what happens lol.

🚐 I have two RV places that are possibility for our stay. (Found a spring 40 minutes away!)

📍 June 12-18th we will be in Tupelo, Mississippi. Some of our itinerary includes;

Elvis Presley birthplace, Tishomingo State Park, Mississippi Petrified Forest, Rowan Oak, Tupelo

National Battlefield, Bankhead National Forest and Natural Bridge hiking trail.

🚐 We will be staying at our first State Park. Wall Doxey which is outside of Holly Springs with a 

spring fed lake. Super cheap and has all the hookups, I was shocked. (Found a spring 40 minutes from

here!)

We will boondock somewhere on our way out.

📍 June 19-26th we will be in Cave City, Kentucky. Some of our itinerary includes;

Dinosaur World, Mammoth Cave National Park, Crystal Onyx Cave, Guntown Mountain, Bell's Tavern,

Nolin Lake State Park, and Cumberland Falls State Park. Open to more ideas if there's anything else we 

should check out while here! I've been looking out for some of our favorite artists hoping they'll have a 

show around here.

🚐 Most State Parks near here are all booked or don't have water hook-ups. Looking for RV parks that aren't

too pricey. I have one saved. Open to ideas! (Surprised I didn't find any springs near here.)

📍 June 26-29th we will be in Anderson, Indiana. Our itinerary;

Dead and Company Show at Ruoff!!!!!! I'm excited to see a second show. I'm more excited to have Joe 

experience his first one. The 27th will be spent at Shakedown and the concert. 

Mounds State Park is nearby so we can do that one of the days that we will be at the RV resort.

🚐 We booked our stay as soon as we could since everything is full or $700-900. Really wanted to stay at 

Sleepybear because it's Dead themed but we were way too late. 

(Even found a spring 20 minutes away!)

From here we will plan our way out west. Hoping to stay in Montana for a month!
