Robertsdale, AL!
Woke up and got ready to leave. The cats were not okay in the car for majority of the ride today. Thankfully it was only two hours. No puking!
Memorial Day not being on a Monday has me all screwed up.
We arrived two hours early. Check in is 1pm and we gained one hour here. We pulled in hoping that they'd let us setup. They did! Another family owned campground and another set of awesome owners. The guy reminds us of our host when we stayed in Iron Mountain. He guided us to our site and helped Joe back in while I rallied the cats into the crate.
We are right next to the pavilion and the river. You can go in and float from where we are. Concrete leveled pad also. I went and got the laundry out of the way. Didn't take long and the laundry room was nice and clean but not as fancy as Gatlinburg lol!
Made a Walmart list and once the laundry was done we headed there. Joe finally got a car wash too. Not washing his car drives me nuts. We also need to figure out where or how to clean the trailer. A lot of places don't let you or you need some sort of permit.
All setup and settled in! Cats are all good and got all of their favorites. We are here ten days so we can just relax most of them. Which is nice. The temperature here sucks though lol. So hot and humid and sunny. The worst. We will do a lot of water or indoor activities lol. There's the Hank Williams 100th birthday bash not far from here. We never heard of any of the artists though and don't want to stand around in the heat so we will probably not go.
While Joe was getting the hot water ready he scared Figaro out of his litter box. Poor Figaro was so scared of the water noise (that hears all the time) and jumped out of the litter box with poop flying out of his butt. He had one stuck to him and I had to chase him to get him to let me wipe him. He was so embarrassed lol.
We are super close to Pensacola so we will do a day there. Hank Williams grave and museum will be another day. We have a lot to pick from but we will figure that out another day.
Alabama honestly reminds me a lot of Ohio.
The campground also said we should give them a spare set of keys because it's hurricane season. The river can flood and they'll try to tow us to higher ground. I thought that was a super nice thing to even offer or think of lol.
