Dry Falls

There are a lot of neat waterfalls here and they're better than the ones in the Smokies. With less tourists and annoyances! We went to the Nantahala National Forest to see Dry Falls and Bridal Veil  Falls. The scenic drive to these falls alone were worth it. Not very busy for being a weekend and this is a "tourist" spot. Dry Falls was insane! I love going behind waterfalls and this was a big one. Hardly any people but I still wish we could have explored this all to ourselves lol. Down the street was Bridal Veil which isn't as spectacular but still neat for being on the side of the highway. Some motorcycle guy came up to Joe because he saw his hardhat in the car. Turns out he works for Dayton's Ironworker Local. Small world.

We then went into Highlands for a little hike where the rich folk live lol. Gorgeous trails but it is all up and down hills. The rocks here are so sparkly and pretty. Quartz everywhere. We did a small hike here and went into town. What a mistake 😂 The place was packed and everyone was rich and fancy. People were wearing like fancy royalty sweaters over their shoulders hahahaha. We were going to find some place to eat here but decided not to. Thank God lol.

On our way back to Hayesville we went to a local Italian restaurant. The food here was actually extremely good and cheap. I wanted to do the Cherokee Homestead Exhibit trail which is right in town. This was pretty neat and not much of a walk. Until it took us to their high school sports complex to find Spikebuck town mound 😂

There was also a little fairy trail here and on Saturday's 12-4 if you take a picture of one of the setups and bring it to the art gallery across the street you can make your own fairy house. We missed it by one hour but I totally would have done it!

The weather here has been so nice. Really cold at night and doesn't get above 75 during the day. Hardly any humidity.

Dry Falls. $5 and there is a kiosk to pay at int he parking lot. The lot is on the small side but people are in and out so it's not too bad.

So pretty. This is not a hike, it's a small walk to the falls and there are stairs.

Bridal Veil Falls

Love this

My favorite one lol
