We were going to go on a canoe trip down the Menominee River but they didn't have any shuttles for the day.

I found a waterfall that we could go to. Smalley Falls. When we got there we saw a can of Busch Light hanging from the tree in front of where we parked. Very fitting.

The place was nice and secluded. The trail was a short one and the waterfall itself was gorgeous.

Of course there were more mushrooms. Lots.

This park was in Wisconsin and it was $5 per car for the day. Unless you were registered at a campground in the county.  So I found a few more parks we could hit in the area.

Marinette County. This is the waterfall capital of Wisconsin. Perfect because we are always chasing waterfalls back in Ohio.

So, next on the list was Long Slide Falls. This one had way more people. Some guys were trying to fish in the falls. We had a small conversation with them. You can better view the falls from different points at this park.

Next was Dave's Falls. Named after a guy named Dave, shocking. He was the river crew boss who lost his life to the river in 1881 when he was trying to free a log jam. This park was my favorite of the day. Three waterfalls throughout. The trail was nice and easy. Nothing crazy unless you went off on the more primitive trails. These lead to the railroad tracks. The bridge has a spray painted "Prom?" on the side of it. Which is funny because this is the third railroad bridge we've seen with "Prom?" written on it.

While we were here we saw two older men viewing all the falls. They even took their shoes off to walk in the water. They were adorable. I could tell they were having a great time and it made my heart happy.

On the way back we stopped at Patti's Platter so Joe could take a picture with the sign to send to his mom.
We passed a store that had flags outside stating what they sold. "Guns, Ammo, Tobacco, Explosives, Liquor, Bait." Music to Joe's ears ๐Ÿ˜‚ So we stopped in to look around. Joe ended up getting a bottle of scotch, aged 12 years. Next door was an old brick bank building. This is now Patty's Hangout but the building still has Pembine State Bank on the face of the building. It was a nice local bar. They had a cornhole tournament going on. They don't like the term cornhole so they call the game "bags".
The older guy to the left of me told me about the street dance they have going on Sunday. This is what they call their bar crawls. He also invited us to their firemen's picnic on Saturday.
The older couple to the right of Joe mentioned that they also want to live in a travel trailer but they recently adopted a two year old and they don't want to homeschool. Everyone was super nice, as always.

The sky was clear and the sun was about to set. We haven't been to Millie Hill to watch the sunset yet, so that's where we headed. Pictures do no justice.

Iron Mountain must have a church on every single street corner. There has to be over 25 churches in this little town. A lot of history with each one. While we were on the platform at Millie Joe read about the town building one church next to the other and later on combining the two. Churches can be very pretty so we decided to go look at the church at night.

On our way in and out of Iron Mountain, I kept seeing a sign with an arrow pointing to their historic church. So we then followed the sign to The Immaculate Conception Church. A gorgeous older church with beautiful stained glass windows. I was walking backwards to take a picture and fell directly into the fountain they had out front. Not a surprise. After Joe fished me out the neighborhood cat came up to us. He was loving all over me. I guess he's never seen so much commotion in their small town ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here you have the fall.

But hey, it's a pretty church ๐Ÿ˜…

This is the kitty hero. He let me pick him up and even followed us back to the truck.
