Spent time with Cherry outside. She's getting a little better with not trying to eat every pine needle in sight. I did the dishes and a few other things around the house. We were going to go to the Florence County Fair but there was nobody there. A few vendors, but they still didn't look set-up. Florence does only have a population of 428 (which is the best). So I wasn't expecting too much. I found a place on my phone that we could check out. The American Legion Park on Keyes Lake. There weren't many trails but there were a lot of pretty rocks and shells. This would be a great place to boat or swim. There was a small beach.

Aside from the main roads here, everywhere else is a dirt road. I'm glad we have the truck. I couldn't imagine doing any of this driving in my little Civic.

So we went down a dirt road that pointed us to a scenic overlook. The road turned into an ATV/Snowmobile trail. Which happens a lot. There are so many ATV/Snowmobile trails here. I really wish we had a side by side. They're so fun and there's so much to do. You can rent them from Journey North Rentals. This is the pricing;

$250Full Day Rentals 7 Hours
$5002 Day Rentals
$7503 Day Rentals
$1,0004 Day Rentals
$1,2505 Day Rentals
There's 160 miles of trails and that's just by us.

ANYWAYS we went down this road and came up on a ski hill. The overlook was pretty but nothing like the ski resort in Iron Mountain. We walked down and back up the stairs. I found a spring nearby. Called Trout Springs. Followed the GPS down another dirt road and back to more ATV trails. You have to walk to the destination but there was no way we were doing that. The forest is very overgrown and we were not prepared for bears or anything. This definitely looked like bear country lol. On the way back the truck was making a crazy sound. We got out to make sure everything was good. We didn't see any issues. Once we got back onto the normal road and let all the rocks fly out the sound stopped. We're still keeping an eye out on the truck.

Came back to the trailer and fed the cats. Made sure the air was on for them. We wanted to stop and get some bar food at JR's (which I found out is not called juniors, it's J R). This is also a stop on the ATV trails, so a lot of ATVs were here. They have a liquor store in the bar. But no food. The bartender said they haven't had food in a year. She also works at a restaurant in the area, so she gave us the name of that. We went to The Mine Shaft Bar and Grill. We've passed this a few times but the sign only advertises their campground. We had no clue the restaurant was there. The food was AMAZING and cheap. Joe got the Philly Cheese Steak. I got Poor Man's Lobster. Which is boiled cod in butter. The fries were something else. Never had a fry so good lol. We met a couple and they invited us to come back next Friday. This is also a stop on the ATV trails and that's what they just got done doing.

Got home and watched The Final Cut before bed.

                                                          This was the view of Keyes Lake.

        This was a farm we came up on. All of the greens looked so pretty. This doesn't do justice.

        The Mine Shaft is known for their wood fired pizzas. We will have to try one before we leave.
